Why Investing in a Good Pair of Wellies is Worth It

An article I did for a lifestyle/premium outdoor retailer!

A good pair of quality wellies is a staple to any wardrobe – especially with the unpredictable English weather. Just because summer doesn’t always equal sunnier days, it’s worth investing in a decent pair of boots to keep your feet toasty warm when the bad weather hits. And with rain causing flash floods all over the country, it stands to reason sales of wellies have risen by 146%. But what makes a pair of good quality wellies?

A good quality pair of wellies should never go out of fashion. They’re classic, can be worn with anything, and functional whilst being stylish. When choosing a new pair, choose ones that have a classic style that will last the test of time.

They’re made well. Naturally, when you’re investing in such a staple product, you’d expect quality materials and craftsmanship. But you’re also paying for hundreds of years’ worth of technology, multiple man hours, and years of experience. The best wellies have been tried and tested, hand-made and lovingly constructed to deliver you a product that should last for years. A sturdy, well-built pair of boots will deliver far better than a clumsily made pair bought from a supermarket.

You could also be investing in a product developed closer to home; Hunters and Joules are both British brands, so you know you’re supporting British heritage.

Good wellies use professional materials, such as neoprene, a material used in wetsuits which locks out moisture and locks in warmth. Good wellies usually come with a guarantee, ensuring you’ll be saving time and money in the long term.
