Dead Sea Spa Magik Review

Hey lovelies! I thought it was about time I reviewed this fab company, Dead Sea Spa Magik. I've recently bought a couple products by them to try, including the 'Algimud Active Seaweed Mask' and their 'Silky Smooth Body Lotion'. A bit of info about the brand - Dead Sea Spa Magik create products that blend salt, minerals and mud to deeply hydrate, soften and soothe the body. As the UK’s #1 best-selling Dead Sea range, they believe that almost every skin condition or complaint is caused by a deficiency in certain minerals or vitamins, which they believe can be re-balanced with their innovative, natural products!

So, onto the reviews! First, the mask! OH MY GOD, this thing is fun. This is a one-time application technically, but I divided it into two uses because I don't know how big they think my face is but there's LOADS of product in the pouch, far too much for one use! It comes in a powder form and mixes with water. On my first attempt, I used far too much water which created these weird little pockets of air/lumps in the mask! I tried adding more water to make it mix better which turned out to be a huge mistake and just made it even more lumpy and runny. Attractive, right? Anywho, me being determined and all, I slathered the green, lumpy concoction onto my face regardless. Unfortunately, because I'd made it so wet, it didn't set quite as well as it should have and it kept sliding off my face. This also meant I didn't get the satisfying "peel" at the end, either - boo! Fortunately, on my second attempt I nailed it. I got the powder-to-water ratio just right and managed to mix a lovely, smooth, lump-free mask together! They provide a wooden spatula for application in the set (nice touch) which I used to apply all over my face and neck. On application, it felt cold and relaxing - quite lovely! It set surprisingly fast but still felt cold on my face - I had to press it with my fingers to tell if it had set. Once it had, it peeled off BEAUTIFULLY - it was seriously SO satisfying! I'm used to peel-off masks hurting (y'know, clearing out the pores) so it was quite nice to use such a luxurious feeling one! It reminded me of a mask I'd had applied at a Bannatynes salon not long ago...

Onto the body lotion! This stuff feels and smells really nice. I'll admit, it takes a bit of work to work into the skin, so I like to slather this on before bed as I find I don't have the time to massage it in properly after a shower in the morning! It's certainly not an overpowering smell, but it's clean and lovely... all their products smell like this.

Overall, I will definitely be using more of their products! I've got my eyes on their Salt Body Brushing that is supposed to help smooth skin... it sounds very fancy, and supposedly Victoria Beckham is a fan of using it! I especially love the salon-feel of this brand, at an affordable price... and as a would-be mermaid, I love that their products use ingredients taken from the Dead Sea! Definitely a thumbs-up from me! Meli X
