Heyyyyy! PLEASE NOTE - the grounds seen in the pictures is actual coffee, not the product, the item was unopened during picture taking! Welcome back, and if you're new to my blog, welcome! Grab a coffee, take a seat, relaxxxxxx, and enjoy! Speaking of coffee, today's review is all about the SkinYoga Coffee Body Scrub! Available at Naturally Bettter You for £32, this somewhat pricey little product is by my current fave natural skin care brand! Developed in India using ancient Indian remedies, they use a host of fab ingredients to create products that are not only effective, but made with pure, clean ingredients that can cause no harm to your skin, no matter how sensitive it is! I happen to have skin like leather that rarely gets affected by anything, but it's nice to know I'm not absorbing anything horrid ingredients that could potentially cause me harm in the future!
So, on with the review! Now considering how pricey this product is, the packaging it a teensy bit disappointing. It's nice enough don't get me wrong, but when you're paying such a hefty price I think you expect something a little nicer than a bag, even if that bag does happen to be a pretty gold resealable bag! Their face products come in at a similar price range and come in beautiful glass jar containers, so this is somewhat of a disappointment... still, it's not about the packaging is it!
The idea of this is, once you've finished cleansing yourself and whatnot in the shower, you take a handful of this and rub it all over your body and face in order to exfoliate and invigorate your skin!
The product is supposed to:
- Enhance fat metabolism (blimey)
- Remove liquids/fat from the skin
- Reduce the appearance of cellulite
- Reduce appearance of stretch marks
- Moisturise
- Treat inflammation
- Protect skin from sun damage
- Exfoliate, removing dead skin cells
- Good for getting rid of old tan (assume fake tan, not your real one, who would want to get rid of that?!)
Quite a list, I think you'll agree! But coffee is obvs sent from the God's so I was happy to believe all these claims and get right down to testing!
Firstly, as with their face products, I'm not sure I like having to grab handfuls of product to then mix with water in my palm. I feel like I waste a lot of the product and it's quite a messy process, which makes me sad! This smells absolutely delicious, which I'm sure wont came as much of a shock to ya'll. If you are a coffee person like moi, it's like heaven in a bag! I slathered this everywhere and spent a good amount of time working it in, ensuring I covered every inch of skin. I left it to "soak" (?) and rest on my skin for a while before washing off. I did find my skin felt very soft and lovely afterwards - but then, exfoliating always does leave skin feeling better! I think this is one of those products you have to buy several of and use for a couple of months to see if there are any proper changes to the skin. I'm excited to use it in the summer to see if it does effect how my skin is in the sun! I'm always really careful in the sun anyway and think it's a huge bonus that this apparently helps protect skin from the harmful rays! Have you guys tried this before? What did you think? Meli X
