Hi everyone! Welcome to my little space on the internet! I wanted to talk about one of my favourite skin care finds of late - obviously I'm late to the party as these aren't new, but they're so good I definitely think they're worth talking about! I've started finding signs of aging (SOB), so felt it was time to up my skin care. My routine is already pretty regimented and includes serums and eye creams, but I wanted an INTENSE serum to use once a week to target those areas of my face that are, tragically, starting to show signs of wear and tear. I came across these while out shopping recently; I've never tried Elizabeth Arden products before, but I liked the fact these came in handy little capsules that I could use one night a week for an intense hit of anti-aging goodness. These also come with mini eye capsules. You get 7 face and 7 eye capsules, lasting me a total of 7 weeks.
The little pot is very classy and neat, while the capsules remind me of those bath thingies full of bath cream you'd get as a kid... do you know what I mean? C'moooon you must do, they were all the range back then! No? Sure? OK, moving swiftly on...
One capsule = one use (obvs), so I tend to use these overnight at the weekends. Because these aren't as popular as they once were, I managed to find them in a shop for around £15 (which I was happy to pay), but for a pot of 60 capsules you're looking to pay around £66 (yowch! Though cheaper in the long run...) These little capsules of wonder are supposed to: - Delivers the restorative power of Ceramides and essential lipids to help strengthen skin's barrier against the visible signs of time
- Visibly improve skin tone and clarity
- Support skin's own natural collagen levels for a firmer, more resilient look
- Work to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Retexturize skin for a noticeably softer, smoother look
So! To use these, I cleanse thoroughly and use in place of my usual night serum. It says to twist the end off, but you have to twist it approximately 10 million times to get it off and it's effort - I just cut with scissors. I rub my palms together and put this all over my face and neck. You get a lot of product in these bad boys, so any remaining product I wipe all over my hands. I do the same with the eye capsules, carefully pressing the product into the skin. This product smells gross but feels AMAZING. It's like putting liquid silk on your face! It's so soft and silky and beautiful... it's thin enough to absorb deep into the skin quite quickly, so I follow with my night time moisturiser and eye cream quickly.
After doing a bit of research online, turns out ol' Lizzie likes her pot-and-capsule combos, so it's quite difficult to figure out which ones I actually have! I have this sneaky suspicion these have been discontinued though, hence why you can now find them very affordably all over the internet. I'm definitely looking to get more as they feel great and seem to work; I like having a little extra potent hit of anti-aging goodness once a week as I think it does my skin good. Have you tried anything like it before? Let me know, I'd love to try other products similar! Meli X
