Bare Minerals Skin Care

Hey guys! How's it going? Good, I hope! As you may or may not know, I used to work as a manager for a lovely brand called Bare Minerals. I worked there during their skin care update, which was really good fun because as ya'll know, I LOVE skin care! I've tried the majority of their products (their new serum is amazing), but I totally forgot about these two little beauties! I decided to try them out and give you my opinion on them. Now you know I'm a big fan of the new Bare Minerals skin care. They take serious pride in their packaging, all the products are made with magical natural ingredients that smell amazing and they do regular offers and discounts that make them very affordable! Let's start with the moisturiser! This is the 'Bare Haven' Essential Moisturising Soft Cream. Now I am a personal fan of the 'True Oasis' cream which is in a gel forumla and feels cool and refreshing on the skin; normally, I shy away from thick creams like this one! Here are the claims (brace yourselves, it's a bit wordy): "Embrace your skin in silky-soft, lusciously nourishing moisture. Powered by Intuitive Mineral Moisture Technology, Bare Haven Essential Moisturizing Soft Cream replenishes essential moisture to normal to dry skin, reviving overall resilience and suppleness and infusing an extraordinarily super-smooth feel. This comforting soft cream moisturizer effortlessly blends into skin to help enhance a natural, healthy-looking glow. Plus, a blend of peptides, ceramides and amino acids to help soften rough texture, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The subtle notes of Bergamot and Eucalyptus* add to the sensory experience to gently enliven and awaken your senses".

Well... it's recommended for dry to normal skin, which isn't really my thing! BUT, my skin can get dehydrated, so I figured this was worth a go!

Firstly, look at the packaging! The lid is ROSE GOLD - isn't it beautiful?! If feels far more premium than the old Bare Minerals skin care stuff did, and far more worth its price range (which ain't cheap at around £30).

The cream itself smells quite strongly (naturally derived), it reminds me of salon products which I luuuuuurve! It's very thick, unfortunately for me, though I must admit it did sink into the skin quite quickly! Certainly not an everyday product for me as my skin couldn't take it, but it's a perfect once-in-a-while treat for a hydration pick-me-up! I'd lean more towards using this at night I think because my skin tends to accept heavier products during the night, but on days off when I'm not planning on wearing makeup I'd use it too!

On to the cleanser!

This cleanser is the Clay Chameleon Transforming Purifying Cleanser. The following is the Bare Minerals claim it taken directly from their website:

"Transform your cleansing ritual with this beautifully innovative clay-to-cream facial cleanser that combines the benefits of purifying Brazilian Red Clay and mineral-rich Sea Salts with the soft comfort of a cream. Enriched with Papaya and Bamboo Extracts, our formula works to gently remove impurities and help detoxify, to leave your skin feeling pure, soft and supple. This skin-enlivening formula is infused with the scent of Bergamot and Mandarin* to help uplift the senses each time you cleanse."

They also have a bunch of claims on their website, including "After just one use, 100% of women agreed Clay Chameleon Transforming Purifying Cleanser gently cleanses", and "99% of women agreed Clay Chameleon Transforming Purifying Cleanser promotes healthy looking skin" (based on 110 women).

As you can see, the product itself it a vibrant red shade (due to the clay) which turns into a white lather as soon as you start working it into the skin - an aspect I think is quite original and I really like! It is really thick, which I'm not used to. For an oily skinned person like myself, I found it a bit too luxurious and thick feeling... I had to hot cloth cleanse twice to feel like I'd really got it all off. However, i thought straight away of how great this would be on dry skinned peeps. It smells strong (but amazing, apparently all the fragrance is naturally derived), a bit spa-like which I'm a big fan of.

Have you tried their stuff before? What do you think? Meli X
