Alchemy Oils - Grapefruit Hair Remedy Review

Hey! I came across this fab brand with work recently called Alchemy. The first thing that drew me to them was the incredible packaging - it looks so different to other stuff on the market in the same category and price range, and the website is really professional feeling and beautiful, too. They're "hair oil specialists intent on creating effective, natural hair care solutions." Using natural ingredients, they want to bring back "the age old Ayurvedic practice of hair oiling from India; where they use oils in scalp massage (which increases blood flow to the scalp) for a deep conditioning treatment, with Western hair styling sensibilities (oil/serum hybrids to smooth fly-aways, add shine and heat protect). We have created blends to stimulate hair growth, treat hair loss and promote longer, stronger hair as well as soften hair and add shine making it smoother and more manageable." Check out their directions below:

We only use natural, essential oils and include absolutely NO parabens, PEGS, phthalates, sulphates, silicones, mineral oil, glycols, DEA or TEA. We do not test on animals." Great stuff! I was excited to try it; I chose to try the Grapefruit Hair Remedy, as I loved the fresh, citrus smell and I thought it would be the most beneficial for my hair type - pretty healthy overall, but I'm always working to keep it hydrated and strong. I do get regular bleach highlights and use heat on it quite a bit, so hair masks and decent conditioners are a must for me! And Emma Watson has just said she's a fan of the Grapefruit Hair Oil - if that's not a reason to try it, what is?! The way I used this is I applied it to my dry hair, massaging it into the scalp and carefully applying it to the ends before rolling my hair into a loose bun to sleep in. It felt really weird massaging oil into my scalp - almost backwards - and my hair looked pretty awful when I went to bed. But, hey, it's all in the name of beauty! The next morning I jumped in the shower and washed/conditioned my hair as usual. I followed with conditioner, and tried brushing my hair through (gently!) to see how it felt. I must admit, it felt REALLY nice! Very soft and silky, easy to brush and pretty manageable overall. I tried putting it through my hair once dried (apparently it's good for fly-aways), but I overused it and put far too much on, leaving my hair looking a little limp and oily - woops! I'll definitely be using this again - it's unusual to find such a great oil that doesn't over-saturate my hair, and this one was great. It also smells sooooo good... ya'll know I love a good smell on a product, and it's all naturally derived!
