Kiko Milano - Recent Puchases

Heyyyyyy :) I was in London last week (for a Guns n Roses concert, and yes, it was INCREDIBLE!!) I did a cheeky bit of shopping on my way back to catch my train, and I realised I haven't been into a Kiko shop in absolutely ages, so I had a browse... I'm sure it comes as no surprise to anyone that I bought a couple of things whilst there! In my defense, I've been REALLY good recently and bought hardly any makeup products... but hey, I'm only human!

I'm a big fan of Kiko for delivering decent make up at very good prices! They've upped their game since I last visited too, because when I went in the advisors were much more like what you find in MAC - attentive, funny and far more clued up! They're brought out a LOT of new products, including what looked like a total overhaul on their skincare (which I was very impressed with!) But moving on, I decided to take a look at their brushes (having broke one the other day... sob) and a lipstick (no reason, it's an obsession and I have a problem)

The brush I decided to get was the Face 11 Contouring Brush. I actually brought this intending to use it as a foundation brush, because the bristles are soft and tightly compact which make it perfect for blending into the skin!

I've been keeping this brush in my bag for quick touch-ups on the go and I've got to say, I'm fairly impressed! It only cost £9.70 (usually £13.90 but they have a sale on at the moment!) which is a good price for anyone! It's definitely worth the money and I'm really liking how my skin looks once foundation is applied with this!

The lipstick I got was the Glossy Dream Sheer Lipstick in Rose 202. It was only £5.50 (down from £9.90) and it looked like SUCH a pretty colour when swatched on the back of my hand! I tend to go for nudes, so I wanted something I could whack on easily, that would look nice with all sorts of different make-up looks and outfits, and that was quick to apply (rather than having to apply lipliner, primer etc).

The packaging on this reminded me of the packaging on the Bare Minerals lipsticks - it's not a simple bullet, you click the button and pull the lipstick down (which I think is quite neat but I know for a fact they'll be getting customers complaining they can't open it...)

Check out this lovely, chic packaging - it definitely looks like it cost more than £6!

The shade is a very pretty, easy-to-wear pink shade - I think it looks a tiny but more red in the pictures, but I tried to get the colour as true as possible! It has flecks of shimmer through it so it's quite a summery shade to wear... here's what the website says@ "Semi-sheer lipstick that naturally reflects the light. The formula contains orchid extracts and hyaluronic filling spheres. The creamy texture softens the lips, leaving them supple and radiant. The application awakens your senses; your lips will feel wonderful. The easy-to-apply lipstick glides on perfectly.Glossy Dream Sheer Lipstick comes in a new, modern tube with a metallic finish. This lipstick's distinguishing characteristic is the unique button at the top of the cap."

It smells strongly of vanilla, a scent I really like but I'm sure may be off-putting to some people, particularly if you're allergic or sensitive to scent! However it is dermatologically tested, non-comedogenic and paraben-free, all which may help prevent a reaction!

I really like this lipstick! I'm swearing it daily at work as it's easy to apply, suits the office make-up I wear, and is comfortable. I only apply it once, and it's still wearing well by midday (nothing stays on after I eat lunch so I always reapply afterwards). I'm really impressed with the staying power and it does feel very comfortable on. I'm impressed! Meli X
