This month, I'm taking a closer look at dry, sensitive skin types (and more importantly, how to cure it!) I've been sent some amazing products from HelloSkin
So! This week, I wanted to talk about one of my favourite brands for sensitive skin - Aveeno! I tried Aveeno a while back, but unfortunately forgot all about it whilst trying other products sent my way! HelloSkin gave me a gentle reminder about this amazing product, and I couldn't wait to try it again and see if it was as good as I remembered!
Firstly, check out the size of this huge tub! 500ml for a pump bottle is so great, as I go through body lotions really quickly! I moisturise some parts of my body (like the tops of my arms) morning and night, and I always give myself a full body moisturise after a shower to lock in moisture and keep skin silky smooth. So a huuuuge tub like this is ideal for me! I love the pump bottle too, I find them a lot less hassle and I don't have to fumble around with a lid or bottle when my hands are covered in lotion. Less mess, more convenient!
Anyway, on to the product itself! As you've probably seen, Aveeno is advertised by the beautiful Jennifer Anderson, who is renowned for her beautiful, soft looking, tanned-as-hell skin. I know you shouldn't buy into products advertised just because a celebrity is the face of it, but for some reason I find Jennifer a bit more honest than other celebs, so I was willing to give this a go - especially if it meant having skin as soft looking as hers is! Aveeno has Colloidal Oatmeal, which means it ideal for adults, babies (from 3 months) and eczema sufferers.
The ingredient list is fairly short for a skincare item (always a good sign). Colloidal Oatmeal is known for its soothing properties, particularly for dry, irritated skin. It consists of sugars, amino acids, proteins, lipids, and fibers, making it anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-pruritic, and anti-fungal! This lotion smells very faintly of... well... oats! It's a lovely, light scent that I really like and lingers VERY subtly on the skin. It absorbs really, really quickly - I'm talking ability to put on skinny jeans after applying quick - but leaves a lovely, fresh feeling on the skin. It's a medium-thickness, white lotion that gives a decent amount per pump (enough to moisturise by my arms). I really love this lotion. Like, really love it. I'd happily buy it again. I'm so glad HelloSkin reintroduced me to it; I'd forgotten how much I love the light scent, the quick absorption, and (obviously) the feel of my skin after application. I'm keen to keep using it to see what the long term effects make my skin look like! I especially love this lotion on my legs, because it leaves them feeling so soft and smooth after shaving them.
I seriously recommend this lotion for anyone after a new body moisturiser! I think the fact it works on such sensitive skin types is an added extra - this lotion is ideal for everyone looking for softer, silkier skin! I'll definitely be repurchasing.
