Heyyyy! I felt it was about time to do another perfume review. This one is a limited edition summer fragrance by Jimmy Choo called Exotic. It comes in the same packaging as the original but with a bright pink cap and slightly tinted glass bottle. I have to admit, I'm a sucker for packaging, and this one has a lovely, premium feel to it. The bottle is weighty and classy. I actually find the original fragrance way too strong and bitter on me; I've tried several times to wear it as it smells so great on other people, but for some reason, it just doesn't suit me! When I came across this, I was hopeful - the fact it's a summer version meant it would be a lighter, fresher version anyway, so it was far more likely to suit me!
Here's the spiel from the website:
"Jimmy Choo EXOTIC is a sexy twist on the original fragrance, an addictive fruity composition which is truly evocative of high summer. Based around tiger orchids and patchouli, the fragrance opens with sparkling notes of blackcurrant sorbet and pink grapefruit, with a heart of tiger orchid and passion flower. The patchouli and velvety raspberry notes in the base offer a light gourmand touch".
This is a strong fragrance for sure and not one for those of you who like a subtle-smelling perfume. If you like something that's more noticeable and lasts, it could be for you! It's fresh, tangy, and you can definitely smell the original Jimmy Choo as an aftertone. On first application, it's fruity and sweet and definitely summer-time appropriate - perhaps a little sickly, but for me it is far more wearable than the original.
If the original suits you, you'll like this. It lasts for ages and you only need a few squirts. If you don't like to original, be wary! It's strong as hell and definitely a love-hate sort of perfume. Melissa X
