Chanel Lipstick in Cambon

Updated: Jul 8, 2020

This has got to be one of my favourite lipsticks of all time. I've always loved the classic beauty of the Chanel lipstick; it's the brand of choice for if you want to feel sophisticated. Their lipstick blends have always impressed me; thick, creamy with an intense colour payoff, the packaging is timeless and simple yet recognisable by everyone. It's weighty which, for me, signifies quality. I have a couple of Chanel lipsticks (though probably not enough... I'll never have enough lipsticks! #obsessed) Chanel Cambon was a shade I came across as a redhead. I read somewhere that Christina Hendricks wore it regularly, and she's an absolute babe who definitely knows how to work her red hair - I figured I couldn't go wrong!

The thing about Chanel Cambon is it looks red on first appearance - but actually its closer to pink. It's a sort of cross between a pink, coral and red... usually, as a redhead, I would go for more blue toned reds, so I was interested to see how this would look (blue toned reds make teeth look whiter - warm reds are hard to wear unless your teeth are a dazzling white and your skin isn't too red, like mine is!) Anyway, I trusted Christina Hendricks and went ahead and bought it. I haven't been a redhead for over a year now, and I totally forgot about this beautiful colour... until I was searching through my lipstick case the other day and came across it! I took it on holiday with me as I think it's a beautiful, bright, punchy colour and perfect for a summer holiday.

Heres how it looked on:

I'm not wearing any lip liner here as I would usually with a bright colour, but I still managed to create quite a smooth, even line without a liner or lip brush... I can only put that down to the amazing quality of the lipstick itself, it really is so smooth and easy to apply, plus I didn't have to re-apply even after eating! Amazing! I'm definitely going to make an effort to wear this colour more! Meli X
