Ekia Highly Active Firming Serum Review

Hey everyone! I've been reaaaally excited to do a review on this product! It's been sat patiently waiting to be used in my beauty box for a couple months now while I used up some other products I've been trying, but ever since I wrote an article about this for Naturally Better You I've been dying to give it a go... and, finally, the time has come! Ekia is a brand I'd never heard of before, but they do natural, high-end skin care products that are focused in reversing or delaying the ravages of time. I chose to try the Highly Active Firming Serum which supposedly helps to "contour the jawline and mouth area" as well as improve firmness and elasticity in the skin. Now granted, I am still fairly young so my skin is in good condition, however I firmly believe in shutting the barn door before the horses have bolted so to speak! Basically, what I'm saying is the best way to keep aging at bay is prevention; don't wait for wrinkles to occur, look after your skin now and keep well hydrated to prolong the aging effect! This serum has a special ingredient called Dragon's Bloody Sap (sounds fancy, right?) This sap comes from a tree in the Amazon and is renowned for its youth-giving properties. Angelina Jolie is meant to be a big advocate for this ingredient, and if it's good enough for Angie, it's good enough for me!

The serum itself surprised me; for some reason, I expected it to be creamy and white, but in reality it's a clear, thin liquid than feels very refreshing on application to the skin. I really liked the texture straight away as I felt it was hydrating and sank into my skin nice and quickly. It sat well under my moisturiser and makeup, so is ideal for morning application.

In terms of the anti-aging effect this product claims to have, I do believe my skin feels slightly firmer and I've noticed the tiny little lines that were appearing around my mouth and eyes have completely vanished. That, in my opinion, makes this well worth the money if you're planning on spending more money on your skin. Mid-20's is a great age to really start investing in your skincare, as unfortunately it's all downhill from here (sob!) I'm hoping with continued use I'll notice more of a change around my jaw, as it's something I'm conscious can age you really quickly! At £48.99 this isn't cheap, but the quality of the ingredients (and the fact they actually work) more than makes up for it. If you're serious about taking care of your skin and you're at an age where your skin will be adapting and changing quickly line mine, I definitely think it's worth the investment! Go pricey with your serum and cheaper with your moisturiser to save money and keep your skin looking it's best. Meli X
