The Skincare Bible by Dr Anjali Mahto - Beauty Book Review

Updated: Oct 25, 2023

Something a bit new for the blog today - a book review!

If you've always suffered with your skin and can't afford to see a pricey dermatologist, I highly recommend taking things into your own hands and learning the tricks of the trade. You don't need a doctorate to have a better understanding of skincare - you just need a few hours to really research and learn about it.

We're taught that skin fits snugly into different categories - dry, oily, sensitive or normal - but the truth of the matter is, skin can be far more complex. A product that might suit my oily nose may be rubbish for my dry forehead. And my nose is sometimes dry, too, just to further complicate things!

When we are inundated with information that can sometimes be too simplistic to solve our skin concerns, where do we turn for professional advice that can actually make a change to our skin?

There's where this book comes in! The Skincare Bible by Dr Anjali Mahto is a fantastic book for anyone wanting the know-how of an expert, without the technical what-on-earth-are-they-on-about bit. It goes into detail about how our skin works, which then makes it easier to understand why different creams and lotions are used.

She also gives great advice for problematic skin conditions like acne and rosacea, which can be tricky to tackle.

I highly advise this for anyone wanting to know more about the complexities of skincare! Remember - while asking someone working on a counter may help, these people are ONLY trained in the products they're there to sell. So it's important you get the right information from the right people, and as a qualified dermatologist, you know you can trust Dr Mahto's book! Melissa
