Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation - Is It Worth the Cost?

Hi guys, welcome back - and if you're new, welcome! I've been meaning to do a review on this product for ages but I really wanted to try it out for a decent amount of time before reviewing it... I wanted to love it SO much as I adore their No Lipstick Lipstick, and quite honestly it was a bloody expensive foundation so I wanted to get my monies worth! But was it worth the price? Let's find out!

Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation is a skin-like foundation with an impressive SPF of 30. It retails at an eye-watering £45, and I got it in the lightest shade - Porcelain.

Here's what it says online:

"Perricone MD’s No Foundation Foundation Serum is the ultimate skin care-make up hybrid – providing a sheer veil of translucent coverage, without masking your natural ‘glow’ (or exaggerating the look of fine lines – there are few things more ageing than a heavy, cakey-looking base). With a flattering, semi-matte finish, this featherweight formula creates a flawless, ‘fresh faced’ finish as it works to ‘undo’ damage and protect against the elements. This inclusion of broad spectrum, mineral based SPF 30 deflects the harmful effects of UVA and UVA, making this a moisturising, anti-ageing, skin-protecting base – ideal for all those who like to look polished but never ‘made up’".

Well, it SOUNDS great! But how did it fair IRL?

Honestly? There hasn't been a foundation I hate this much in a LONG time. While I like the bottle and handy pump, the formula itself it pretty shocking. I excitedly applied this on top of primer using my standard technique of using a damp beauty blender - but this stuff does not want to blend! Not to be deterred, I instead using a buffing brush... to no avail. I tried with my fingers... just as bad. I tried without primer. Nope. No matter what I did, I couldn't get this foundation to look right! See below...

In the after photo, I feel like I look powdered and unnatural. All I have on is the foundation, and while the colour match isn't bad, I feel that I look flat and the foundation appears to have taken away my natural glow. When applying other products on top, they don't blend or sit well. And I found the foundation sticky and uncomfortable to wear. My eyes felt cakey, my skin felt untouchable. It separated and went patchy quickly throughout the day.

I was absolutely gutted by this foundation, and I have worn it over and over again to see if I can make it work. I found other reviews online to see what other people think, and there were quite a few who reflected my own thoughts - it's nearly impossible to apply nicely. I was determined to love this product, but I just can't!

I know that, unfortunately, not every product will suit every skin type, but I was really shocked at how bad this foundation was considering its price point. I LOVE the concept of Perricone MD and they won me over with their No Lipstick Lipstick (thanks Wonder Woman), but I feel like this brand is SO hit and miss - either I absolutely love a product, or I hate it!
