uTan & Tone Coconut Tanning Water Product Review

Attention, fellow redheads (or anyone naturally pale, for that matter)!

Do you dream of glowing, sunkissed skin? A beautiful tan without the patchy fading issue?

WELL HERE'S THE ANSWER!

Ok, I might be a bit behind, but this product needs, nay, DESERVES to be spoken about! As a natural redhead, I have the classic pale-with-freckles skin type that burns with immediate sun contact. I'm a factor 50 kind of gal - all day, every day. While I absolutely love the sun, future wrinkles aren't worth the exposure to my face, so I wear SPF every day on my face and always wear sunglasses when it's nice out.

That being said, when I get a bit of colour during the summer everywhere else, the one place that stays resolutely pale is my poor face. To combat this I usually use a tinted moisturiser or a foundation that's a teensy bit darker than my usual shade. But how I wished I could find something to give my skin a lovely glow, even without make-up...

This glorious little product is a sunkissed-glow-in-a-bottle. A coconut tanning water, it does smell a tad odd (and unfortunately comes with the faint smell of fake tan - ugh). Having said that, the pro's more than make up for it. You can spray this after skincare, before bed, or - gasp - after make-up. Just let your brain take that in. A setting spray. That tans your face. Yes, people, the future is here and it is BRIGHT.

I discovered this at a beauty awards ceremony I attended last year, and while I liked the look of it I promptly forgot all about it until the wonderfulness that is Jamie Genevieve brought it back into my life.

Upon buying it for £17.99 (not the cheapest but I reasoned that a lot of fake tans are that much), I was excited to give it a whirl.

I use this at night on top of my skincare routine to let it develop overnight. Like I said, for those who want a deeper colour you can use this in the daytime on top of your makeup (gasp)!

I may have overdone this due to excitement the first couple of times I used it (put it this way, I was getting comments) so I dialled down my usage. I only wanted a very natural sun-kissed look, not like I had face planted the sun.

My honest thoughts? I really like this product. It didn't break me out, it wears off evenly (even when you cleanse twice a day), it looks so natural and lovely. The only downside is the smell, which lingers and smells very typically fake-tanny. It's a negative I'll happily put up with for lovely glowing skin this summer!

They appear to have since changed the packaging since I bought mine for some reason (I think they've had a major brand overhaul as their logo is different too), but it still comes in this great spritz bottle which is convenient, easy to use, and quick. Melissa x
