Hello!
I've been sitting on reviewing this oil for ages now. I wanted to make sure I used it for long enough before making a judgement!
The Dr. Hauschka Clarifying Day Oil is £21 for 100ml and is aimed at blemish-prone, oily skin. My skin is all over the place at the moment but, at the time of purchasing, I was definitely more on the oily side.
I actually think the price point is spot on and I expected it to be a lot more expensive! You only need to apply 2-3 drops all over the face, so it really does last for ages.
It smells like the sweet love hearts, which I quite like, but it is quite a heavy smell.
Here's the blurb from their website:
"Our Clarifying Day Oil works according to the “law of similars”. A composition of medicinal plant extracts and six nourishing oils address the needs of impure, oily skin by sending a signal to the skin to slow down its own oil production. Why you'll love it: Dr. Hauschka Clarifying Day Oil absorbs easily without leaving a greasy shine. It can be used sparingly and applied in winter over any other day care product to provide extra protection against the cold
Apricot kernel, almond and wheat germ oils balance the skin’s natural oil content, while anthyllis and carrot extracts calm the skin. Neem, St. John’s wort and calendula extracts combine to visibly minimise redness and help maintain a healthy, radiant complexion."
To apply you are advised to cleanse the skin before either applying this, or mixing this with a moisturiser. Personally I have used this by applying it in the daytime underneath a moisturiser.
So I've been using this on and off for a number of months now, and I like it! I bought this because JLo loves the Dr. Hauschka day cream and I was intrigued about the brand. It has definitely impressed, mostly because of how cheap it is and how high-quality it feels. I definitely want to try more products from the range and for around the £20 mark I would repurchase this again in a heartbeat. It softens my skin and does keep it hydrated, though I am careful using it under makeup as oils can make my foundations separate.
I have a night oil that I use specifically for night so I only use this in the daytime. I'm impressed - excited to try more from this brand!
