Hey gang, I was given this product at a Beauty Awards show a few years ago. It wasn't a brand that was particularly on my radar, but always one to try new things, I was excited to experience the exfoliating properties it promised to deliver.
Deborah Mitchell is said to have built her multi-million global beauty brand, Heaven Skincare, from her own kitchen table - impressive!
The BeePeel is a popular product in the line. Retailing at £64, cheap it ain't, but it promises to provide a hoast of skin-loving benefits - check out the spiel below: "This unique, fresh formula known as ‘the facelift in a jar’ helps boost the production of collagen which increases the strength and elasticity of your skin. Created with ABEETOXIN®, organic coconut and raw cane sugar to resurface and even out skin tone, minimise the visibility of lines, scars, dark spots, blemishes and enlarged pores. A solution for enhanced exfoliation and hydration. Reduces inflammation and pore-clogging debris leaving smooth, plump skin."
Sounds good to me!
Here's how you're supposed to use it: "Apply to clean, dry, skin and leave for one to two minutes then wash off. On sensitive skin leave for only one minute before washing off. Application to the skin may tingle, this is a normal reaction to the ABEETOXIN®. When using on elbows or feet it is safe to leave on for up to twenty minutes before washing off."
Now, having fairly hardy skin, I may have left this on for a smidge longer than intended. I'm only talking a minute or two, but I wasn't feeling the tingly sensation, so I figured I'd be safe. READER, I WAS WRONG TO DO THIS.
This product packs a punch.
It may look like an innocuous little cream, but boy this stuff is strong.
After my first use of this product, I had red, inflammed skin for the day. I don't blame the product for this - it was definitely my own fault! It did, however, put the 'FoG' (Fear of God) into me, so I didn't use it again for a few months.
I then got the super duper smart idea to use this product on less delicate areas of skin. The elbows, the feet, the knees - you can use this product for a multitude of purposes. On harder bits of skin, this stuff worked a treat. It's been really great for exfoliating those tough areas without the mess of a beaded exfoliator.
Would I buy this? Probably not - but that's because I have not ended up using it much for its primary purpose. I think this is a great buy if you want a cream exfoliator - but I don't recommend this for sensitive skin types!
Have you ever used any other Heaven skincare products before? What did you think? Melissa x
