All it took was a little trip to Japan to FINALLY get my hands on this viral product!! As if it needs any introduction, this is the Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation, NOW AVAILABLE AT BEAUTBAY for £20.50 (guess I didn't need to go halfway around the world for it... doh!)

Anyway, here is the description: 'A semi-matte foundation. Smooth on the perfect canvas for makeup with the TirTir Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation. I've been trying to get my hands on this for ages, so naturally I was very excited to give it a go!

It comes with a cute lil' application pad, but I made sure to have my trusty buffing brush and beauty blender close by. On first application, this is SOOOOO heavy - I was really shocked by the coverage as Korean beauty brands are not well-known for their coverage!

The colour I got was a tad too pale for me (15C Fair Porcelain), but it was workable.

I used the pad to gently pat this onto the skin. One dip into the product covered half my face, so go lightly!

Once on, I noticed immediately that it was clinging to certain areas of my skin and looked very mask-like. I set to work trying to help this settle into the skin by alternating between my buffing brush and my damp beauty blender.

I can't lie, this took a lot of work to blend into something I felt comfortable wearing. From far away (and on camera), it looked amazing, but close up it looked very mask-like and dry. I finished my make-up look using purely liquid products to try and bring some of the natural glow back to my skin, but I didn't need to powder as this was so matte. Once I'd applied the rest of my make-up, this didn't look bad at all. But again, on closer inspection, I could see where the product was settling into my skin, particularly around my eyes, nose, and chin.

I'm not as impressed as I thought I would be with this product! I can see why influencers like it; the coverage is seriously impressive, and I love the packaging. But I love my make-up to look natural up close, and this looked too try and cakey for my liking.

Will I try it again? Absolutely! I'm going to try wearing different primers with it to see if it changes the application, and I'm going to try different make-up combinations with it. I love cushion foundations in general, so I'll hopefully figure out a way to make this work for me.

If you want to see the application and how this looks on the skin, check out my YouTube video on Melissa Keen Content, which will go live on Thursday 2nd at 12pm!
