Revlon Pro Collection One Step Dryer & Volumiser Product Review

I bought this Revlon Pro Collection One Step Dryer & Volumiser as a was to quickly dry my hair and eliminate frizz when I am in a rush. As my hair is currently fairly blonde with loads of highlights, it dries naturally veryyyy frizzy and it's impossible to wear down unless heat-styled. As I didn't want to cause loads of heat damage (which curling irons tend to do because you're holding it onto the hair), I thought this would be a quick and convenient option.

This retails at around £60 so it's not the cheapest hair tool, but if you're lazy with hair styling like me it's a great investment. In my experience, Revlon items tend to stand the test of time so it's worth saving up for.

As you can see the brush is pretty large but not to difficult to hold and use. I do wish the brush was round rather than slightly oblong - I find this makes it harder to get down to the roots of the hair, which is where you add volume.

The idea of this brush is that it will replace the need for using a hairdryer and a barrel brush at the same time in order to blow-dry the hair into volumised, luscious curls.

I have found this brush-dryer hybrid to be very convenient when I'm in a rush, but I don't think it delivers the same bounce, volume, shine or curls that normal blow-drying gives. I think this is because the barrel of the brush is large and oblong; for more volume and better curls, I think a smaller and rounder brush would have been better.

Having said that, I do use this brush fairly often if I want to quickly dry my hair without loads of lion-mane-like frizz. Personally, I struggle to get the sleekness that a ceramic barrel brush gives me and I struggle to get the roots of my hair, particularly for my fringe part (see above); the shape of the brush makes it impossible to get those front sections unless you come from the underside, which would style my hair in the wrong direction.

I wouldn't style my hair with this for an event where I wanted my hair to look perfect. For day to day, however, this brush does the job and definitely leaves my hair looking far more presentable and smooth than if I left it to dry naturally. As this still uses heat, I use a heat protection spray to protect my hair from damage. But because my hair is not being held directly onto searingly hot plates for seconds at a time, this is a bit better for your hair than straightening or curling with a wand.
