'Tarte Busy Gal Brows' Product Review - A Wearable, Easy-to-Use Brow Gel?

Hey, gang!

Today, we're talking brow products. In particular, the Tarte Busy Gal Brows brow gel.

I'm lazy when it comes to brows, and usually get them laminated, tinted and waxed so I don't have to do anything to them. However, when I'm between treatments, I like a good, easy-to-use product that I can slap on and basically forget about. Long gone are the days when I would carefully carve out my brows with the likes of the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow gel (you know the one I'm talking about!) Now, I want fast and easy - and that's where brow gels come into play. Along with the trust brow pencil, the brow gel is a really great way to quickly add some colour and definition to brows without having to spend ages on them.

As a redhead, colour matching brow products is... well, I'll be honest, it's a total pain in the ass. Things have gotten better over the years, but I distinctly remember having to use eyeshadows to try and colour-match my brows to my hair (and failing, abysmally...) Today, I tend to make it easier for myself by going for taupe or light blonde shades of brow products, as these are warm enough to get away with when I'm wearing mascara.

Currently, my brows are tinted but unlaminated. So let's see how the Tarte product looks!

They've changed the packaging for this product (no idea why as the new packaging looks boring in comparison), and the wand is slightly bent at an angle to I assume make application easier, but as far as I'm aware they haven't changed the formula (though please do correct me if I'm wrong!)

I use coloured brow gels by back-combing in into the brows first, before brushing the hairs back into formation.

You can see the difference pretty clearly in the above picture! Granted, it looks a bit too dark because I don't have any mascara on, but I promise it balances out when I do. That's before I cleaned it up further with concealer or a Q-tip. It's a nice product, easy to use with a nice, small and hard-bristled spoolie applicator (I often find the brushes are too soft and won't separate the hairs effectively).

However, I will say I ran out of this product quickly - either that or it dried up? I feel like it ran out way too quickly considering its size and price - I was hoping to get some more use out of it as it's a genuinely nice product. At £22, it's not the cheapest product on the market, and for how long it lastest, I probably wouldn't actively seek it out to buy it again. However, if I happened across it while in Boots and I needed a new brow gel, I wouldn't say no!

You can buy the Tarte Busy Gal Brows from their website now. Hope this review helped - what else should I try from Tarte? Melissa x
