I love effective skincare. So when I found the Vichy Liftactiv 15% Vitamin C Brightening Skin Corrector, I HAD to try it out!
This tiny powerhouse may come in a small bottle, but it delivers big results. Retailing at around £28 for just 30ml (gasp), the Vichy Liftactiv 15% Vitamin C Brightening Skin Corrector isn’t the most affordable skincare solution. However, it’s designed for short-term, intense brightening and skin correction, making it worth the splurge for those looking to boost their complexion in a hurry.
Packed with a high concentration of Vitamin C, this formula promises to target dullness, uneven skin tone, and signs of ageing - all in one sleek bottle.
Added Antioxidants and a 'Controlled Ph Level' - What Does it Mean?
Vichy’s Liftactiv 15% Vitamin C Brightening Skin Corrector stands out with its added antioxidants and a specially controlled pH level. These two features are key to keeping the formula stable and effective.
Antioxidants: In addition to the powerful Vitamin C, the serum is packed with antioxidants, which help fight free radicals and protect the skin from daily environmental damage. This gives your skin an extra layer of defence while brightening and improving your complexion.
Controlled pH Level: The controlled pH ensures that the Vitamin C stays stable for up to 10 days, even without fancy oxygen-proof packaging. Normally, Vitamin C can lose its power when exposed to air, but this smart formula helps keep it fresh and effective, so you get the full benefits... supposedly.
What to Expect from the Vichy Liftactiv 15% Vitamin C Brightening Skin Corrector
When you first open the bottle, you’ll notice the rich, orange hue of the serum, which is a telltale sign of the high concentration of Vitamin C. The colour may be striking, but it's not the only thing that stands out; this formula is also known for its distinctive, slightly tangy scent. While some users may find the fragrance a bit strong at first, it fades quickly after application, so it shouldn’t linger on the skin.
The texture of the serum is thin and watery, and it has a slightly sticky feel, which is common with potent Vitamin C formulations. While this can be a bit of an adjustment, it’s nothing that doesn’t absorb away after a minute or two.
The product comes in a small glass bottle equipped with a dropper, making it easy to control the amount of product you use. Just a few drops are enough to cover the face. To apply, simply dispense a drop or two into your hands, then gently press and pat the serum into clean skin, focusing on areas that need brightening or correcting.
My Results
I'll be honest - I used this wrong. I was supposed to use it daily for 10 days, but instead I used it once or twice a week as an intense treatment.
Now, obviously this will have had an adverse affect on the product. It's not oxygen-proofed, as mentioned earlier, meaning when you open the bottle, it needs to be used quickly to get the full intended results. Oops.
Despite this, I liked this product. It's very potent, so even with my less-than-recommended application routine, I could still see a small but noticeable difference in my skin. The formula delivers an instant boost of brightness, helping to even out my complexion and fade dullness with each use. Even though I wasn't using it as directed, I still found that my skin looked visibly brighter, and my freckles faded.
For anyone with sensitive skin, I'd recommend starting slow or mixing this into your moisturiser, as the strength of this formula can be a bit intense at first.
It’s also worth mentioning that using this as part of your evening routine is ideal; Vitamin C works really well when your skin is in repair mode overnight. But for those who use retinol (like myself), I like to use it in the morning.
Would I buy it again? Yes, for a really nice skin boost! I'd love to see the results when used as part of a 10 day intense treatment plan.
